The Trailblazer: Alexander Barclay #1 - Portsmouth Blues (FIFA 16 My Career Mode - The American Legend)

Yep. Another web series to do. This is from different sport as I will touch on football (soccer). I was really big football geek especially from 2016 - 2021 that I was a very big nerd. Playing video games was where it really took the cake as I have been spamming manager and player career mode like it was no one's business. YouTube was a completely different story since my viewing of these football videos really didn't pick up until 2020's COVID-19 Pandemic. In which I discovered a YouTuber that really amazed me with his ability to make himself unique to the rest. And that YouTuber is BFord.


BFordLancer (or BFordLancer48) is an American Football YouTuber that is mostly known for his video gameplay content on football. He has a passion that for it much like other popular FIFA YouTubers in the current day. What makes him unique to the rest of the YouTubers I was watching is his FIFA My Player Mode videos. He does these series in a storyline and gameplay format to heighten tension and give more drama to precedes. Especially when I watched some of the FIFA 18 & FIFA 19 editions to the My Player franchise. So I am going to try to do as much of the episode as humanly possible of Alexander Barclay. You got it? Great. Let's roll with it.


Episode 1: The Beginning

The first ever My Player episode starts with a young man walking through the streets. His name is Alexander Barclay. He is internally debating on which club he wants to sign to as he has three options. The first one is Queen Parks Ranger (QPR); the second one is the Seattle Sounders FC from US League Major League Soccer (MLS) and the last one is Portsmouth.

He ended up in deciding to play for Portsmouth since it was an opportunity to get some playing time, and started training with them. His debut game would be against Cambridge United in EFL League Two, the fourth tier of professional football in England. We are really starting on the back burner with this one, huh? The game kicks off with aggression as both teams are hungry which led to Barclay receiving a yellow card in the 26 minute after sliding tackling Cambridge's Captain Roberts.

5 minutes later, Barclay cuts past Taft to get into the box only to get tackled by Hughes. This resulted in a Penalty for Portsmouth. Even though it was his first professional game, Barclay was trusted by the coach to take the Penalty. Barclay shoots the ball into the upper left corner to get the first goal for Portsmouth. It is now 1 - 0 for the away team. Cambridge really put the pressure having conceded. And in added time in the first half, Simpson scores with a really good header to equalize for the home team. The score is now 1 - 1.

In the 60 minute, a free kick wasn't able to be capitalized. And the 70 minute, Barclay was substituted out for Sunil Chhetri. His debut would end there, but Portsmouth was able to win the game by 3 - 1 against Cambridge United. Barclay wouldn't start his next game against Southend in the first round of the Capital One Cup, but Portsmouth would end the game with the score of 1 - 1 and won as a result of 5 - 4 on Penalties.

The episode would end on the beach as Alexander Barclay reflects on being able to play professional football in England and prepares for the next game. 


Post: Yeah... I am only doing episode 1 right now. This took a lot longer to get done. Mainly is that I wanted to finished Alexander Barclay's spell at Portsmouth first which is 16 episodes before I decided to touch on these episodes. I am trying to see how I am able to integrate multiple episodes into this, but for now, it's one episode per blog. I hope you all have a great and I'll see next time. BYE!
