Hanan: Public Enemy No.1 (feat. Uncle)
In my time of watching STARDOM, I kept seeing an uptick in many wrestlers that are praised by Western fanbase and wrestlers that are perceived to be the second coming of Shocker. (If you don't get the reference, then it's completely fine.)
There are wrestlers that I may like and you don't like and vice versa, so it's completely fine. But on the internet, I have never seen more hate for a wrestler than Hanan from STARDOM. Since I haven't mention Hanan in detail before on this blog, let me talk about her for a major moment.
Hanan is a pro wrestler born in Shimotsuke, Tochigi, Japan. She is the eldest of her sisters who are also wrestlers, Hina and Rina (who are twin sisters). She debuted in April of 2017 at the age of 12 years old and has been wrestling for the past 10 years.
Her accomplishments is winning the Future Of Stardom Title, NEW BLOOD Tag Team Title, 2-Time Cinderella Tournament Winner (2024 & 2026), Winner of the 2024 Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League alongside Saya Iida. She is currently the Wonder Of Stardom Champion after defeating Konami at Stardom All Star Grand Queendom.
She has currently made 5 successful defenses against Bea Priestley, Saya Iida, Ami Sourei, Ruaka and most recently, Hina. She has also taken the mantle of being the leader of STARS, which was previous led by one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, Mayu Iwatani.
With the accomplishments she has had, there are obvious receptions she might had as a result. What I have noticed is that Hanan has more people that doesn't like more than the Sonozaki Family and that is saying something. Interestingly enough, there is no blind hate with this one. (Okay. Maybe there is some blind hate, because it is the Internet after all.)
The problem does stem from her abilities inside of the ring. This is an important point when her spot in the company is higher than a lot of great wrestlers like AZM, Hazuki, Saya Iida, etc. (Those who have never won the Wonder Of Stardom Title which is one of the top two belts in STARDOM.) This calls her In-Ring Ability into question by a lot of people if she is that high up on STARDOM's Hierarchy.
This is also made worse by the fact that she has two sisters who a lot of people see as better than her. I personally felt bad, because the way I've seen the hate, she is treated like she is coming of Tsukasa Sagawa from Yakuza 0 (2015). I have already made a ranking on all three sisters in my Hina blog, so check that one out.
Obviously, I understand people who don't like Hanan's In-Ring abilities especially since coming back from injury. But I also understand people who love her as wrestler. It's simply because wrestling has been subjective medium since the start of its very existence. And sometimes, the act of hatred can be blinded all of the time in this world.
The next step for all of this is to keep watching Hanan and see where everything goes from there. As of writing, she doesn't have any title defense lined up. However she is going to lead STARS into an Elimination match against HATE at Crimson Nightmare.
So that has to wait until next time. What is happening next time? Next time, I will diving into one of the Supporting Bridges of the entire blog as it will be Uncle's 10th Mythology Special. See you next time.
Kind Regards,
ZERO (or Archer)
