Once Upon A Time in Finland - Valkyrie 2K Story

There are many TV shows or Online web series that I have tried to keep up with over the past few years. That is mainly because I'm not good at binging, I also work now and I'm very old. Currently, I'm trying to keep up with wrestling shows like Stardom New Blood 30 and MLP Uprising, and watching TV shows like Kamen Rider W (Double), Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (which I am very slow with), etc. These are things you look forward to every day, but not a consistent basis which reminds me that I need to create a schedule for these shows. There are some shows that I have binged in my lifetime and the last one I binged is one of the longest running series as of right now.

Valkyrie 2K
This online web series is from the YouTube channel, Valkyrie 2K. This creator made a series that should be very famous right now, but for some reason, it isn't. This series is titled the Valkyrie 2K Story. This has been part of the channel since the beginning of the channel. It follows a story for a Finnish wrestler named Valkyrie as we see her journey through the world of professional wrestling. This has been currently going on for 194 Episodes that has been spanning through multiple WWE 2K games which are (and correct me if I'm wrong): WWE 2K19, WWE 2K20, WWE 2K22, WWE 2K23, WWE 2K24, WWE 2K25 and it will continue as we have WWE 2K26.

I have binged this series until I caught up with at (I think) episode 183. And I haven't been quiet about it as I posted about this series on X/Twitter, because that is where the creator is. Honestly, I am quite surprised that a series like this hasn't gotten popular at all. Given the amount of crazy people that the internet has made successful over the past few years, it's very surprising that this doesn't. Especially as I kept watching, I saw the quality and evolution and growth over time. Recent episodes have an odd feeling, but it is standard really. So I am not gonna go through the series again, unless you want me to, but I am going through the few episode as a trip down memory lane.

Episode 1; Once Upon in Finland (Nov 16, 2019)
It all starts in a snowy area within Joensuu, Finland as cars drove by. A woman was getting out of her car as she arrived at what seems to be a wrestling training center. The scene shifts inside the training center as we see our main character of the series, Sarah Stevenson. She is asking a fellow wrestler if they can spar in the ring. Then said wrestler whose name is Alexandra, accepted the offer to spar, but she wanted it to be done quickly. Sarah was concerned as she knew something was off with Alexandra. Alexandra just wanted to spar, so they start sparring.

Alexandra and Sarah Stevenson spar in the ring and afterwards, Alexandra refused to shake her hand. As Sarah was about to leave the ring, Ryan Stevenson just showed up from the starship enterprise. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is Sarah's brother. Ryan explained to Sarah why Alexandra has been acting rude lately. Suomi Pro Wrestling, which is the only promotion in Finland, are gonna do a tour in Joensuu in 2 weeks, and Alexandra will answer an open challenge to fight for the SPW Women's Championship. Sarah is happy for her and wishes to be in that match.

Ryan was thinking of an idea of having Sarah in the match and Sarah doesn't want to take her spot. It reveals a trait of Sarah being someone who doesn't cross the line and that trait would carry on throughout the series. Ryan, however, wants Sarah to bring her gear to SPW show in 2 weeks. And Sarah already knows how this will go.

Episode 2: Frozen Hearts (Nov 23, 2019)
Two weeks have passed and it is time for the Suomi Pro Wrestling show in Joensuu and in this cold ass weather. Even Sarah mentions how freezing it is. Suddenly, a woman named Raven Jarvela appeared with her chauffeur of some kind. She thinks that Sarah is her opponent and said that she only has 5 minutes to spare. Jarvela is the SPW Women's Champion and is quite cocky champion. She calls Sarah, Seraph, then Tara for some reason. It seems like Sarah is challenging Raven Jarvela. The only questions I have are: Where is Alexandra? and What did Ryan do?

Then the next scene is the fight for the title as Raven Jarvela defends the SPW Women's Championship against Sarah Stevenson. It is crazy that the first official match we see Sarah Stevenson in is a title match and I don't know how it took me until now to realize that. A fun match followed with a moment where Sarah did a Eddie Guerrero to get the chauffeur ejected from ringside. Raven Jarvela would retain the title after using the European Clutch to get the win.

Episode 3: Explosive Situation (Dec 1, 2019)
The episode starts at night as mystery person pours gasoline around a vehicle. And seconds later, the gasoline sets a light as the car is now on fire. This is an interesting to start the episode as it creates intrigue for the rest of the episode or chapter. The scene shifts to a hotel room where Sarah meets to Ryan. Remember the two questions I mentioned earlier? Yeah, they got addressed here. The big plan that Ryan had to "distract" Alexandra from getting to the match is... that they're dating. It took Alexandra's mind off wrestling hence she wasn't able to make it the event. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. I won't lie. That has to be one of the weirdest ways I've seen a character get written off, but we are moving.

This interaction also gives a hint that Ryan might be the one who torched the vehicle in the first scene. He is wearing a soot over his jacket, because his jacket is a dirty mess. After he left the room in a hurry (which is also suspicious), a woman named Eve Taylor barged in to talk to Sarah. She is signed to Suomi Pro Wrestling and wanted to spar with Sarah before the next SPW show. And since this is a wrestling journey, the sparring commence. During the session, Raven Jarvela suddenly comes out and attack both women with steel chair and send them out of the ring.

Jarvela brought a cameraman out there and explained why she attack them. The vehicle at the beginning of the episode was a limousine. More specifically, it was her limousine and she's pretty upset about it. Like, really upset. She said that she will hunt down the person who did it and is gonna make sure that the video is up on the official SPW YouTube Channel. With that, the To The Continued screen signaled the end of the episode.

Post: This was quite a trip down memory lane. I might do more of these if I want to, but for now, I keep it at three episodes. The outside of the ring scenes are done to the best of the creator's ability at the time. And the fact it's the first three videos on the official YouTube channel. Watching the Valkyrie 2K series is quite a fun, yet rollacoaster experience. I never thought I would be able to catch up and even the creator suggested watching the newer stuff, but I pushed on to this. I hope you all have a good day and thank you all for reading. Sayonara!

Kind Regards,
ZERO (or Archer)
