DTC VI: Versatile Rockstar Conductor Maestro

Who Is The Second Cutest In The World? KIKYO-CHAN!
This will be the first time that I dive into a solo focused episode of Dynamic Thunder Connection today as I'm doing a blog on Kikyo Furusawa. I am probably the most late to this party as I have seen many and I mean, MANY articles on Kikyo Furusawa since her rise of popularity amongst the current crop of STARDOM rookies. I'll be honest, I have hesitated / debating on whether I should do this. The system that I have for the DTC is that I feature both Ema Maishima and Kikyo Furusawa in the same article/blog, and now I'm focusing on Ms. Grab Your Ankle. I'm nowhere near prepared, and Shakira said, "Her hips don't lie." My hips couldn't pass a polygraph test.

The Start

Both Ema Maishima and Kikyo Furusawa debuted as professional wrestlers on May 21st of last year. (I also covered their first matches on DTC 0. I had to do a cheap plug somehow.) Maishima's first opponent was AZM, who was the NJPW STRONG Women's Champion at the time. Furusawa's first opponent was Hanan, who was a co-holder of the Goddesses Of Stardom Champions with Saya Iida. Both women were received well with the praise specifically on Furusawa herself. The fight with Hanan allowed her to stand out with her technical wrestling skilled being on display. With also the fact that she was able to do it in such a short time frame.

Some people saw the potential from that debut and it was really only up from there. Her stock rose from that debut with big matches with the likes of Saori Anou, Rina, Starlight Kid and even faced the World Of Stardom Champion Saya Kamitani. Oh. And personally, I like her three singles matches with Ema Maishima on those three NEW BLOOD shows in a row. Relax... The plugs will come later on. What really cement the fact that she is a future star of her generation was on Jan 31, 2026 in Korakuen Hall. Furusawa was scheduled to team up with Mi Vida Loca as a way to fill in the spot for the current injured Bozilla in a 10 woman tag against E neXus V. However, plans had gone onto an unexpected change.

Earlier in the show, Former IWGP Women's Champion Sareee was scheduled to face Lady C. However, due to an illness Lady C suffered, she needed to have a replace. So Kikyo Furusawa replaced Lady C which turned that 10 woman tag she was meant to be into a Gauntlet Match. And it also meant that she was facing Sareee. She did so well that she competed at Sareee's 15th Anniversary show in a 10 Minute Time Limit Draw against SEAdLINNNG rookie, Selene Misora. There is one person that has changed Kikyo's personality in an unexpected fashion.

Maki Itoh - STARDOM Unorthodox Signing

One of Bushiroad's most successful signings in recent years is the signing of Maki Itoh. Maki Itoh is mostly for her time in TJPW, GCW and made few appearances for AEW, which is where she gained popularity overseas. The former Idol has made a significant tone shift to everything on the roster since she joined and only two people really are a sign of that shift. Aya Sakura was the person that Itoh feuded with first in STARDOM and it created the now destroyed, Kawaii Of Kawaii Championship. Sakura has been a really fun wrestler to watch, but ever since the feud with Maki, she really got an eccentric personality that much with what she learned.

Itoh just recruited Kikyo Furusawa into her STARDOM version of Itoh Respect Army, which the name got changed to Itoh Respect Gundan as a result of the current war in the Middle East. They have been teaming up with each other and have been doing quite well. Furusawa has gotten more eccentric and more confident in her personality under the wing of Maki Itoh as The Second Cutest In The World. (Her nickname/moniker is Submission Blast.) These two would face off against each other in the First Round of the Cinderella Tournament, which was the best First Round match for me personally. These two are peas that we didn't know we needed in the pot.

Current Proceedings

Right now, Kikyo Furusawa will face Akira Kurogane in the Semi Finals of the Rookie Of Stardom tournament. The winner will receive a trophy as well as a shot at Ranna Yagami's Future Of Stardom Championship which is most likely at All Star Grand Queendom. I have already mentioned in my blog preview that I am hoping for an Ema Maishima and Kikyo Furusawa to get to the finals, but a man can dream. Aim High Furusawa!
